Michael Henley supports Hourigan’s operations team and works closely with owners and partners to deliver the firm’s standard of excellence across Central Virginia. He understands that strong relationships are built well before groundbreaking, and his experience with collaborative delivery methods such as Design-Assist and Design-Build allows him to provide strategic insight on some of the region’s most complex projects.
Michael brings deep expertise managing large-scale, technically demanding work, including data centers, advanced manufacturing facilities, higher education, healthcare, and other complex environments where precision, coordination, and speed are critical. His ability to align teams, technology, and process has proven invaluable in delivering successful outcomes across diverse markets.
After earning a BS in Building Construction from Virginia Tech, Michael joined Hourigan in the field as an Assistant Superintendent, supporting major corporate, higher education, and healthcare clients. Recognizing early the value technology could bring to the construction process, he went on to spearhead the development of Hourigan’s Virtual Construction group. Under his leadership, the team introduced value-added services designed to reduce risk, improve coordination, and enhance project performance.
Michael’s unique blend of field experience and technical leadership has supported numerous fast-track and highly complex projects through MEP coordination, design management, and the thoughtful implementation of new technologies across the organization.
