Senior A/P Specialist

We have an opening for a collaborative and energetic individual to serve in a player role as a Senior Accounts Payable Specialist.  This position reports to our Controller.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the overall Accounting processing and procedures for vendor & subcontractor accounts payable and employee credit card statements, including A/P month-end accruals.
  • Process A/P vendor invoices daily.  Route invoices for approval via CMiC Workflow as required.
  • Process monthly subcontractor payments.
  • Process and issue subcontract agreements and change management.
  • Ensure that vendors and subcontractors are in compliance with required documentation.
  • Interact with vendors and subcontractors to answer questions and resolve account and billing discrepancies.
  • Maintain required documentation for sales tax return preparation.

Qualifications and Experience

Required:

  • Associates degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of Accounts Payable experience.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Excellent organizational skills, detail oriented.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent computer skills.

Preferred:

  • Prior construction industry experience.
  • Experience with state of the art industry software (ideally CMiC, Textura), or equivalent (Timberline or others).
