05.27.21 | News

Richmond, VA – May 27, 2021 – Hourigan announced they are breaking ground this month on a new speculative building in Deepwater Industrial Park. In partnership with DSC Partners, this building is now available to prelease with an anticipated delivery of Q2 of 2022. Other buildings designed for the park will follow.

Plans for the 560,000 square foot building include a cross-dock warehouse, 42 dock-high loading doors and two drive-in doors. It will also include ample car parking, trailer drops and customized office space.

“As Richmond continues to grow as the center of logistics and manufacturing in the Mid-Atlantic region, Deepwater Industrial Park is ideally located with its immediate proximity to ship, rail and truck transportation modes. We are excited about the economic impact the park will have for the Commonwealth including job growth opportunities in the area,” said Mark Hourigan, CEO of Hourigan.

Deepwater Industrial Park, located in a designated Opportunity Zone, is a 110-acre industrial park with plans for 1.2 million square feet of industrial leasing opportunities. The park features redundant electric substations and ample other utilities to satisfy a full range of industrial and distribution users. Hourigan will develop and construct the entire park.

“The location of the Deepwater Industrial Park and its close proximity to Interstate 95 will bring economic gains and job growth to the Commonwealth. Deepwater is poised to become one of Richmond’s top industrial parks,” said Leonard Sledge, Director at the Department of Economic Development.

“We are seeing unprecedented interest from industrial developers in land sites in and around our entire MSA. Population growth models and increasing demand from these occupiers is driving this intensity. Deepwater Industrial Park is poised to deliver a quality product to a demanding market,” said Rob Dirom, Senior Vice President of Colliers International. Dirom and Joe Marchetti Jr. will be the leasing team for this project.
