Chrysler Museum- Perry Glass Studio Expansion

Overview

Bringing Art to Life at the Chrysler Museum

The renovation and expansion of the Perry Glass Studio at the Chrysler Museum has transformed a historic space into a state-of-the-art facility that showcases the Museum’s acclaimed glass collection. The project involved a 9,000-square-foot renovation and a 30,000-square-foot addition, including a demonstration theatre, educational spaces, and workshops. The design’s minimalist modern aesthetic incorporated exposed concrete, brick, and CMU block, creating a visually striking yet functional space. The MEP systems were specifically designed to accommodate the heat and performance needs of a working glass-blowing studio outfitted with furnaces, ensuring the space met both artistic and operational requirements.
