Sheltering Arms Institute

This Design-Build construction of a 212,000 SF, 114-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital is located at The Notch at West Creek. The facility included shell space for the future addition of 30 more beds. The joint venture combines inpatient beds from Sheltering Arms and VCU Health to create a state-of-the-art destination hospital focused on caring for individuals who have survived strokes, spinal cord injuries or brain injuries, as well as those in need of general rehabilitation or various neurological diseases and disorders. All patient care is performed in private patient rooms and in state-of-the-art therapy gyms with cutting edge rehabilitation equipment, such as 360 degree overground assistive walking devices, body weight support system and robotics for fine motor skills.
