Capital Square’s Chasen apartment community in Richmond’s Scott’s Addition neighborhood has been named a 2026 Top Project by Virginia Business in the publication’s inaugural Virginia Top Projects & Real Estate Deals awards program. The recognition honors outstanding building and construction projects across the Commonwealth based on design, execution, and community impact.

Located at 2922 W. Marshall Street, Chasen delivered 352 apartment units across three adjoining six- and seven-story residential buildings—making it the largest multifamily project delivered to date in Scott’s Addition. The development also includes over 5,270 square feet of ground-floor retail space and a publicly accessible pocket park on a 2.45-acre urban infill site. Amenities include a resort-style zero-edge pool, fitness center, golf simulator, wellness studio, co-working space, dog wash station, rooftop terrace, and a rotating fine art gallery developed in partnership with VCUarts.

During construction, Chasen supported approximately 643 jobs annually and generated $63.6 million in GDP and $4.7 million in state and local tax revenue for the Richmond area. Hourigan Construction served as general contractor on the project alongside building architect Poole & Poole Architecture, civil engineer Timmons Group, interior designer ENV, and landscape designer Marvel Designs. Chasen will be formally recognized on July 28, 2026, at a celebration at Independence Golf Course in Midlothian.
