Kinsale Capital Group Celebrates Ribbon Cutting for Newly Renovated Headquarters
— 2 min read
Hourigan joined project partners and state and local leaders this week to celebrate a major milestone in the transformation of the former Anthem campus on Staples Mill Road. Kinsale Capital Group officially cut the ribbon on its newly renovated 254,000-square-foot headquarters at 2015 Staples Mill Road, marking the first completed phase of the larger Kinsale Center mixed-use redevelopment.
Originally built as a traditional concrete-façade office building, the structure has been fully modernized, including the complete removal and replacement of its exterior with a contemporary glass façade. The result is a workplace designed to support Kinsale’s continued growth while setting the architectural tone for future phases of the development.
The ribbon-cutting event brought together Kinsale CEO Michael Kehoe, Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin, Henrico County Manager John Vithoulkas, and regional economic development leaders to recognize the project’s significance. Vithoulkas noted that the redevelopment reflects Henrico County’s commitment to revitalizing key commercial corridors and reimagining aging office properties for the next generation of businesses.
Kinsale Center — a joint venture between Kinsale and Marchetti Development Co. — is envisioned as a multi-phase, $500 million development including nearly 200,000 square feet of additional office space, an upscale hotel, and more than 500 residential units. The next phase, located north of the new headquarters, will introduce a 1,250-space parking deck and expand the site’s mixed-use footprint.
Kinsale’s approximately 720 employees will begin moving into the new space soon, with the transition expected to be completed over about a month. As part of its ongoing real estate strategy, the company is also in discussions to lease its previous office across the street.
Hourigan is proud to serve as general contractor alongside project architect Baskervill, helping bring Kinsale’s vision to life and supporting the continued evolution of one of Henrico’s most important commercial districts.
