Virginia Business has recognized Mark Hourigan Jr. as one of its “100 People to Meet in 2026.”
Growing up immersed in the business of building, Mark learned early that great construction is as much about people and purpose as it is about plans and materials. He absorbed those lessons firsthand while walking job sites—developing a lifelong respect for how the built environment can shape communities.
Today, as Partner and Director of Operations for Central Virginia, Mark brings that foundation forward, leading transformative projects such as a large plastics company’s advanced manufacturing facility, CoStar Center of Arts and Innovation, Liberation Veteran Services Village, and several mission-critical data centers redefining sustainable, high-performance construction across Virginia.
A Virginia Tech graduate with degrees in Building Construction and Real Estate, Mark began his career managing large-scale logistics and manufacturing projects in Salt Lake City before returning home to Richmond to help shape the next generation of Hourigan.
Outside the office, he serves on the Leadership Advisory Board for The First Tee and the Collegiate School Construction Committee, and supports Startup Virginia, where he mentors emerging entrepreneurs.
