A cornerstone of the University of Virginia’s alumni experience is preparing for a bold reinvention. Alumni Hall—long the hub for reunions, alumni engagement, and key University gatherings—is undergoing a major renovation that will modernize the building while honoring its historic character.

The project introduces a refreshed, light-filled design that expands gathering spaces, improves accessibility, and enhances the building’s capacity to host events year-round. Updated meeting rooms, flexible collaboration areas, and upgraded visitor amenities will support a growing alumni community and strengthen UVA’s ability to welcome graduates back to Grounds.

The revitalized Alumni Hall is envisioned as a more open, dynamic home for the UVA Alumni Association—one that reflects the University’s forward momentum while staying rooted in tradition. With work now underway, the project marks the beginning of a new era for one of UVA’s most iconic community spaces.
